Originally known as Open Secret, Wellbeing Scotland was established in 1994 with a clear purpose – to help survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the Falkirk area.
Over three decades we expanded to provide wider wellbeing services across Scotland in schools, communities, in prisons and online. We have contributed to the development of national in-care survivor supports and campaigned on a variety of survivor-related issues including removal of the Time Bar.
More recently, we have taken the time to consider carefully the needs of the people we support today and those who will seek our help in the future. This has culminated in a significant organisational restructure and a renewed focus on using our 30 years of experience to support individuals impacted by child abuse.
All children deserve to grow up feeling happy, safe and loved where they do not experience abuse or trauma. Child abuse will never be fully eradicated and support will always be needed for those who did not receive the care and protection that we all deserve and require to thrive.
Our Vision:
To provide a supportive space for individuals who have experienced child abuse to be seen, heard and start to heal.
Our Mission:
To offer a range of holistic services for individuals impacted by child abuse from as early as possible in a safe, honest and timely manner.
